NEW SUPER MONKEY

Happy New Year, Happy New Synch!

With the new Synch Super Monkey almost ready for its official launch we sat down with Synch Founder and Designer, Matt (Frenchie), and spoke about the changes, the inspiration and what we can look forward to in the new Super Monkey Model.

What was inspiration toward the evolution of the Synch Super Monkey?

As you know, at the moment we’ve got the super monkey and the long tail. 
The long tail is aimed for two people and the current super monkey is a single seater. It got me thinking…some people’s lifestyle change, you might buy a super monkey and then decide you need to take someone on the back, or you might have a kid or a new partner or whatever, so you would have to buy a new bike!!!

With the new Super Monkey, it comes as a single seater, but you can add on the rear extension to make it a two seater. Easy as pie!


What other changes have been made to the bike?

There’s going to be some new accessories for this bike. There’s a new front rack. I know we’ve only been selling our current front rack for just over a year, but there are plans for a new improved lighter front rack. There’s no need for the rear rack on the Super Monkey anymore because the passenger seat extension also doubles up as a rack with different options. You can put pannier bags or attach a box to the back. So, it’s sort of, one bike fits all kind of solution.

And in terms of the style, is there anything that’s different?

Yes, the seat’s got a slight tweak, on the new seat there’ll be a new pad for the passenger seat and an option for handle for the passenger to hold onto. There’s also a new what we call a ‘sissy bar’, it’s the pad that goes behind the rear seat, it acts as a safety device and adds some style. There is also some new branding as part of the frame, which I’ll let you find yourself. We will also have a new colour option soon. So what we’ve done is basically come up with a whole modular system for this bike, so people can help make it their bike their way.

For the handlebars we will use our BMX type bars as standard, but there will be still the option of having our classic H handlebars if you prefer.

And what really sets this bike apart from the rest of the market?

Customisation. This new bike will hopefully be the answer to everyone’s needs at every stage of ownership! 

So the Bike is fully customisable? 

Yep, it’s available in any colour you like. Apart from the four standard colours, um one of those being a new colour, but because we powder coat locally, you can have any custom colour you like ……within reason.
