Hit the road Hobo Jack

Hobo Jack is a tattoo-inspired clothing brand offering unique travel-inspired streetwear and accessories for the modern adventurer. Now we love that terminology: The Modern Adventurer.

When Hobo Jack came to us to ask if we would be interested in creating a Super Monkey Pro as part of our Custom program, we were super keen to hit that road. The brief was simple, to create a custom Synch that captures the values of Hobo Jack whilst encapsulating the strong image of the brand.

Hobo Jack was built from an inspiration to be individual.  Individual in style, appearance and in adventure. These values sit so closely to those of Synch that the bike almost designed itself. By taking the clean lines of the Super Monkey Pro and combining these with the strong Hobo Jack branding we were able to create a strong contrast between the cream-coloured frame and the black component accessories.

Being such a strong brand within the tattoo world, it would have been easy to get caught up in some of the awesome designs and artwork that the Hobo Jack artists create.  All you have to do is check out the Hobo Jack clothing range to see how strong these designs are.  So instead, we worked with the ethos that less is more and keeping the bike as clean as possible was in order.  It was the little touches like the contrast black logo branding on the cream front rack that really make this bike stand out. As you look more into the detail you then see touches like the Hobo Jack branded rear foot pegs and BMX style handle bars with the old school bar pad and branded vinyl wrap. What really sets the Hobo Jack bike apart is the single piece custom seat that runs the full length of the top frame, with custom brown leather and detailed stitching. We fell in love with this seat as soon we picked it up from our custom upholster who is based around the corner from Synch HQ.

As the Synch batteries are all made in the UK we were also able to customise its appearance for the Hobo Jack bike.  This is something we had not done before and it was a great idea from Jimmy, the founder of Hobo Jack.  Jimmy suggested the idea of branding the battery using the term ‘Hobo Jack, powered by Synch’. We thought this was great and super happy to oblige.  Consequently, this gave the bike a really strong individual appearance and taking us in a full circle, inspired by individuality.
